Structural Engineering

Structural Engineering Services:

The design of bridges and other civil engineering structures is one of BBO’s core business activities. Its structural design team has successfully delivered a diverse range of technically challenging projects throughout New Zealand and Asia.

Structural work centres on two core activities.

  1. The first includes all aspects of the engineering of new bridges, from the evaluation of alternatives and concept development through detailed design to construction oversight.
  2. The second comprises engineering inputs to existing bridges, involving inspection and maintenance recommendations, and a range of one-off tasks.

In both activity strands structural work is typically integrated with that of the civil engineering team and planning and surveying resources to give a seamless client service.

Bridging and related tasks dominate BBO’s current structural workload, but a small amount of conventional building tasks include both industrial and civil structures.

Our structural engineering team includes a range of experience and specialties, and offer clients a full range of expertise. Professional affiliations include IPENZ and a range of other national and international bodies.
