Transportation Engineering Manager

Cameron joined BBO in September 2004 as a Transportation Engineer, and since 2018 he has provided leadership as the Traffic and Transportation Engineering Manager. Both BBO and clients benefit from Cameron’s extensive experience in transportation planning and design of state highway, urban arterial and rural road networks, as well as traffic signals and urban intersection design. He consults with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and local authorities on behalf of clients and also undertakes work for Waka Kotahi as a consultant.

Cameron also prepares and peer reviews integrated transport assessments and traffic impact assessments for resource consent applications and provides evidence as an expert transportation engineering witness at resource consent hearings. He also has experience providing traffic effects evidence at the Environment Court and Board of Inquiry.

In addition to traffic and transportation engineering, Cameron undertakes and manages civil engineering design projects in support of the wider BBO Civil and Land Development teams, applying his experience in concept design through to preparing construction contract documents, undertaking contract procurement, and acting in the role of Engineer’s Representative on site.  

Cameron has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours), and is a Chartered Professional Engineer, and a Chartered Member of Engineering NZ. He regularly attends Traffic Model User Group conferences both in New Zealand and Australia, and is fully conversant with traffic modelling packages SIDRA, VISSIM and LINSIG, regularly attending seminars and training.
