Ivan joined BBO as a Site Engineer in January 2005, having previously worked in the construction industry for 4 years. In early 2015 he became the manager of BBO’s Construction Monitoring team and has seen the team grow over two regional offices (Waikato and Bay of Plenty).

Extensive experience, an aptitude for innovation and getting the job done, saw Ivan lead the construction monitoring team to successfully deliver the Waikato Expressway Huntly Section. As Engineer’s Representative, Ivan contract-managed the delivery of Hamilton City Council’s largest-ever infrastructure project - Peacocke Development Strategic Services, which included the recognisable Peacocke Waikato River Bridge (Te Ara Pekapeka) - the recipient of numerous national and international awards. Ivan was also the Engineer’s Representative on the Takitimu North Link Stage 1 Project from April 2024 to December 2025.

Being well respected in construction monitoring services, mentoring and leadership skills, Ivan advanced to become a Director of BBO for the 5 years between 2021 - 2026. On 1st April 2026, Ivan stepped down from his Director role at BBO and is now a Principal Site Engineer. He continues to provide mentoring and leadership to the Construction Monitoring Team in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
