Jeremy joined BBO in November 2017, having over 25 years of technical experience and knowledge gained in undertaking both design and investigation management roles for large-scale transport infrastructure projects in New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia.
Jeremy became a Director at BBO in April 2024. Prior to this, he held the position of Regional Leader Waikato, and Project Delivery Manager for the BBO Project Delivery Team (a division of the Infrastructure Engineering Team). In his role as Director, Jeremy continues to support the Project Delivery team by providing his ongoing leadership and expertise on BBO’s most complex projects.
Jeremy’s expertise lies in the delivery of large scale and complex civil engineering projects, including Project Governance, team leadership, design management and general project management. Over the last few years, Jeremy has led large multi-disciplinary teams on many highly complex roading projects, typically with construction values well in excess of $1B. He also continues to have great success in leading the team in the delivery of a number of NZ’s most complex roading projects, including Roads of National Significance (RoNS). Jeremy also led the team that assisted Hamilton City Council deliver its largest-ever infrastructure project (Peacocke Development Strategic Services) – which included the design and construction of the recognisable Peacocke Waikato River Bridge (Te Ara Pekapeka), which was the recipient of numerous national and international awards.
Jeremy has a diverse background covering all areas of civil design, business case development, designation and consenting processes (including presentation of expert advice at hearings), client management, stakeholder consultation, contract development, construction procurement, traffic engineering, and traffic modelling.
Jeremy's engineering skills (and that of the teams he has led), have been recognised with numerous awards, including: the 2025 Eugene C Figg Jr Medal (International Bridge Award) for Te Ara Pekapeka Bridge, and the 2020 ACENZ Silver Award for the detailed design of the Waikato Expressway Huntly Section. In 2016 (also for the Huntly project), Jeremy received the NZ Transport Agency's "Going the Extra Mile" (GEM) Award for the Safety in Design (SiD) process that was implemented. In his role as the Project Team Leader, he was also instrumental in his team receiving the 2014 NZ RICS Professional Services Team of the year award for their work on the Waikato Expressway Cambridge Section.
