Kathryn Drew

Planning and Land Development Manager

BRP (Hons)

Kathryn joined BBO in 2008 as a Planner. Kathryn achieved a Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning degree in 2002, and is a Full Member of the NZ Planning Institute.

Kathryn has undertaken a diverse range of leadership roles within the BBO planning team, and more broadly within BBO’s business. Her exceptional commitment to project delivery, cost-effective and high-quality work, being intent on adding value, a determination to ensure client satisfaction, and a passion for team support and development, saw Kathryn as the ideal candidate for establishing BBO’s Tauranga office in 2020, in the role of Regional Leader, Bay of Plenty. After managing the Tauranga office for two years, Kathryn returned to Hamilton (Waikato) to take on the role of Land Development Manager.

In addition to the role of Land Development Manager, in April 2024 Kathryn also accepted the role of Planning Manager.

Kathryn is familiar with all resource management consenting requirements, with a particular focus on land development. In her role she has been responsible for preparing and overseeing the preparation of resource consent applications, plan changes, submissions, and the preparation of expert planning evidence for both local hearings and the Environment Court.

Kathryn’s strengths include her friendly and approachable manner, her strong work ethic, attention to detail, solid written and verbal communication skills, successful project management skills, and the ability to simplify complex technical matters for clients.
