Kathy joined BBO in 2010 following 20 years in the construction and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. With a passion for road safety and a keen interest in evidence-based process management, her work experience encompasses a combination of engineering and business process analysis and improvements.
With a Master’s in Engineering Study (Transportation w. 1st Class Hons) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), Kathy has become specialised in transportation engineering.
Overseas, Kathy worked on the construction of China's first nuclear power plant, and the multimodal viaduct construction as part of the Hong Kong’s airport core project. In New Zealand, she has been involved in the construction of Anchor’s dairy factory in Te Rapa, Waikato, and the development of New Zealand’s first Performance-Specified Maintenance Contract (PSMC) quality assurance system.
Kathy has also contributed significantly to the improvement of Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency’s processes including: the High Productivity Motor Vehicle (HPMV) permitting process; the assessment and improvement of the Corridor Access Request process; and the Land Use Development application process for the Waikato region.
