Maclean Hastie

Maclean Joined BBO in 2015. He has over 25-years’ experience in technical and managerial roles within the civil engineering industry. Maclean’s key strengths include extensive industry knowledge, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle. 

Maclean has valuable international experience having worked in Australia, the UK, and the Middle East, manging both small projects, and large projects over $100M. He has professional registration in the UK and CPEng and CMEngNZ status in New Zealand. 

As Commercial Services Manager, Maclean ensures the right procurement planning advice to drive good value outcomes for our clients and stakeholders. He oversees the team through the development of procurement strategies, technical specifications, contract documents, and physical works procurement.

Maclean is also BBO’s Regional Leader for the Waikato region overseeing operational aspects of the business. He is a key client contact and particularly passionate about taking time to listen to the needs of clients, stakeholders, and the project teams, with an enviable track record of translating this into the delivery of highly successful project outcomes.
