Maclean Hastie

Maclean Joined BBO in 2015 as a Senior Engineer. He has been BBO’s Infrastructure Engineering Manager since October 2019. In April 2024, Maclean accepted the additional role of Regional Leader Waikato. Maclean has professional registration in the UK and CMEngNZ status in New Zealand; over 25-years in the civil engineering industry; and valuable international experience having worked in Australia, the UK, and the Middle East.

Maclean’s background is in the design and project management of infrastructure projects, with extensive experience in both small projects, and large projects over $100M. Maclean’s key strengths include extensive industry knowledge, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle. 

Maclean is particularly passionate about listening to the needs of clients, stakeholders, and the wider project team. And has a track record of translating this into the delivery of highly successful project outcomes. As Infrastructure Engineering Manager, Maclean continues to successfully lead and grow a highly capable team.
