Siva Balachandran

Siva graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2014 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours. While in Singapore he worked for an engineering consultancy where he was largely involved with the designing of final road reinstatement plans, and temporary traffic diversion schemes for the construction of underground subway stations.

Since joining BBO in 2017 as a Transportation Engineer, Siva has been involved in a wide range of transportation planning and traffic engineering work across Waikato and Bay of Plenty, with a strong focus on walking and cycling network planning; Safe System and road safety audits; integrated transport assessments; intersection design; traffic signal design; and traffic modelling. His experience spans urban upgrades; land-use development support; master planning; and providing expert transport advice through statutory and consent processes.

Siva regularly works with councils and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, and has contributed to stakeholder engagement, technical reviews, and professional evidence relating to transportation effects.
